It was a caressing summer breeze that blew Sally’s hair across her face. As she felt the firmness of his fingers between hers he leaned over and said, “don’t go to sleep. I have something to show you”.
She couldn’t feel her feet touching the ground but the tall grasses tickled her toes as she cruised across meadows and through the ancient forest she recalled from a childhood memory. After what could have been five minutes or two hours, she found herself seated on a large oak tree stump. As the wind rustled the forest leaves she became aware of the far away sound of a saw-whet owl.
“Don’t be afraid”, he told her. “Have the courage to look, for those who are able can change the course of their lives forever”.
Sally slid her hands down the sides of the trunks mossy bark. Aware of her pounding heart she opened her eyes wide unsure of what would appear before her.
Suddenly a flash of light severed the darkness and Sally could see a younger version of herself.
Sally gasped as scene after scene of her life replayed out in front of her as if she were watching a movie. However, the odd thing was, as if anything could be odder than this, the scenes she witnessed were times of her life when Sally was with someone she knew and really wanted to be seen, and valued and heard. But she was remembering how in those moments that was not what she experienced.
A flood of tears ran down her cheeks as she released emotions that she kept hidden since those heart breaking times. Remembering how she wanted to be strong and not have things matter she would quickly push aside how she felt, in fact, she became so adept at that maneuver, she was now amazed at how many of her feelings, throughout her life, she had ignored.
Sally could feel the heat of his breath as he softly spoke to her.
“Sally, Dearest Sally, know this goes back a long long way through the linage from which you were born. The vibrational wiring is so entangled it was impossible for you not to experience this. However, you are the one who has been chosen to overhaul the program. You know these things because although you have not been conscious of this, already you have made significant changes, but now there is more to do."
His warm hand touched her tenderly.
Until we met again Sally, remember...don’t look for rose bushes in a soy bean field.
Sally bolted upright in her bed.
“Don’t look for rose bushes in a soy bean field”, she yelled aloud. What in hell is that supposed to mean???
Sally flopped backwards with a thud.
All of a sudden things started to become clear!
In episode 1, we have Sally confused, wanting desperately to have clarity in her life and wishing things would be easier on her path. She remembers meeting the Ally of Death and thinking if she could use the message she received that she was “Love” maybe things would be different in her life, not such an emotional seesaw and her vision of her life would be more of a dance rather than a steep rock climb.
However, when we make a decision to try and be a certain way in our lives there are always obstacles that appear that seemingly want to block our journey. We see these obstacles in the present moment but often their roots go back not only into our own past, but as Sally’s Guide explains, even back into our ancestry.

By having the opportunity to look deeply into her life through the layers she had covered over so not to feel the hurt and pain experienced by her family, friends or other people who treated her as if she were invisible, Sally was able to access her hidden pain and finally free her emotions.
Emotions that remain unexcavated and unexplored will continue to surface over and over in our lives and we will never be able to be conscious that the roots of those issues are deep inside our personal and even family past. We keep thinking when we are hurt or angry that whatever happened in the current moment is the cause. While in some instances that can be the case, the majority of the time the feelings that emerge are rooted in other situations from an earlier part of our life, but of course, we are totally unconscious that is the case.
So what did the Guide mean when he told Sally to not look for rose bushes in a soy bean field?
When we have deep unhealed unconscious wounds, we frequently end up in situations with people where we experience those same situations over and over again. The person who has suffered from being invisible will find themselves in relationships where they will experience the same situation. The person who feels they are not smart enough or doesn’t know enough will be with people where that wound will surface. The same for the person who thinks they are not enough or conversely the person who thinks they are too much.
There are many other such “false identities” and if we don’t peel back the layers we can end up inside these all our lives and like programmed robots keep being drawn to people who will constantly confirm our false identities about ourselves.
Like the Johnny Lee song, “Lookin’ for Love” ...(in all the wrong places), we unconsciously also look for validation of ourselves in all the wrong places, meaning often with all the wrong people.
That is why Sally’s Guide told her not to look for rose bushes in a soy bean field.
Would love to hear from anyone who can relate!
Blessing and Love
