Welcome to my blog.
My name is Lynda Casey and I am thrilled you are here and I look forward to sharing my journey and my insights with you.
As I consider how to define who I am, within the realm of labels, some include Teacher, Entrepreneur, Cultural Creative, Intuitive, Coach, Writer, Facilitator, Mystic, and on and on. But the one thing that stands above all the rest because it came before all the rest is a “Bridge Walker”.
What is a Bridge Walker?
A Bridge Walker is someone who first of all awakens to the knowing that there is more to life than what is perceived or can be known by our five senses. Although our five senses may participate in some instances in this knowing.
But knowing is only half the story. Let’s imagine we are together standing on the banks of a large river, from there we might know or suspect there is more to life than what is beyond the obvious. Many of us had experiences that have caused us to question things that were considered odd, coincidental, unusual or out of the ordinary. We say we know there has to be something else, even if we are not sure what that something else is.
No matter, we still stay on that side of the river where our lives appear in many variations and degrees of great to challenging. We can have these “extraordinary or out of ordinary” experiences but nothing really changes beyond that.
So we create and proceed up various ladders because there is nothing stopping us from learning new skills, different abilities, having relationships and becoming more financially successful from there.
In fact, the majority of people throughout the world live on that side of the river bank.
So, you might ask; if I can be successful and have relationships and attempt to get what I want, why do I need to think about crossing the bridge to the other side?
That is an excellent question and the usual response is absolutely no reason at all which is why most of the world is still there! And the reason we can answer that question so easily is because...
most of us
“don’t know what we don’t know”!
Therefore, if we can know there is something beyond our world as we believe it to be, what then motivates us to decide to cross the Bridge??? And what could we possibly think is on the other side that would make our lives, or the lives of others, or even on a grander scale...the world, any different than it is now? And, on top of that, who is it that is even considering these questions?
Now, we really begin.
The answer to this is not a single door that reads, “Enter Here”!
What causes us to think about realms beyond our ordinary life, small or grand or in-between, can happen for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, it is a serious health crisis, a severe accident, an unexpected death of someone close, or our own near-death experience.
It can also happen and often does when someday out of the blue we ask the question,
is this it?
Is this all there is?
Or, what is my purpose or why am I here...really?
After all I did to create my life a certain way why is it not how I think it ought to be?
It is in that moment, that very moment, when something magical happens. It is at that precise instant when we are “Called”. It is very much like hearing your phone ring and for most of us who in this day and age have caller ID, we look at our phone screen and make a decision if we are going to answer it or not.
But here is what is interesting. This is a choice point.
Really there is nothing invested in this moment. And there are all kinds of reasons why you may dismiss the call and never think about it again. Perhaps, you will think about it for a while but take no action. Or, maybe you will take some action and begin to cross the Bridge but then decide it is not something you really want to do because often we can get distracted with something else.
Well, news flash! We will always get distracted no matter where we are on the Bridge but at some point, and take this as a WARNING, you “will” reach a certain point on the Bridge that no matter what the distraction or how long you allow it to distract you, you absolutely must come back because the pull of being a Bridge Walker is bigger than you!
Next time I will tell you about some of things that happened in my life that were speaking to me me before I even knew I was destined to be a Bridge Walker.
Meanwhile, please feel free to share your thoughts if you think you are or might be a "Bridge Walker" or even if your phone is just ringing?
